Seasonal Flowers

Now, what I mean by seasonal flowers is this.
Last week my husband purchased a season ticket for Manchester United.
On Thursday he organised a beautiful flower arrangement be delivered to our house on Friday along with a handwritten card. I was absolutely blown over. He has never done things like this before. I was stunned. Four days later and as the sweet fragrance gently wafts my way I am still stunned. And wondering why suddenly I have flowers delivered.

Because he loves me?
Well, I already know that.
So what else could it be?

Because I take care of him? Because I clean and iron his clothes? Look after the house we live in?
Nope that can't be it.

Aaah, because I'm mother to his children? Surely that's it?
Hmmm, this is tricky.

Right then.
Is it because he has spent £x on a season ticket, and he wants me to have something beautiful?
Or because I talked him into spending £x on his season ticket when many wives may have talked him the other way?

I think it was a way of him showing his appreciation for what I do. That he understands how difficult my job as a full time mum can be at times. Well, when I say at times I'm actually referring to the school summer holidays. With a 13month old who still does not sleep through and is still breastfeeding several times a night, a 5 year old who only sometimes sleeps through and a 6 year old who could sleep on a washing line but still has a bad temper - sleep deprived often just doesn't come close to covering how exhausted I feel.
Speaking of night feeds, I should really clamp down on them but I'm so tired that in the middle of the night I just want to get him back to sleep quickly so I can sleep a little before I'm up for the day. Nevermind, we'll get there.
I have missed my car these past few weeks. It's hard telling the kids we can't go somewhere because it's too far to get to by bus, plus just the idea of taking 3 children on a lengthy bus trip is not a good one. And Shaun needs his car to get to work so we are stuck.
Yes, perhaps that's the reason? I'd like to think though, that it is a happy combination of all of them.
Whatever the reason behind it, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my husband for my beautiful flowers. I love them. And I love him. And I'm glad he's finally bought his season ticket because he has worked very hard to get where he is and he deserves a reward that's just for him.
Thank you for reading,
Lots of Love
