In an ideal world. . .

This is what myself and children would like our garden to look like. Someday, far far into the future probably as I've no idea where to start!
Have just noticed I have spelled 'raised' as 'rasied'. <Note to self, proof read before uploading>.
To give you an idea of what we're facing, take a look at this picture, taken this morning. Deary me! There's certainly a lot of work to do.
As you can tell, the 'paint' designed garden plan is perhaps very optimistic, to say the least.
The picture actually makes the garden appear narrower than it really is. The trampoline (is ugly but the kids love it) is 10ft in diameter and I'm wanting to push it as far as I can into the bottom right hand corner, and pretty it up with some lovely flowers, in pots as I want to be able to move them if necessary. But I suppose first we ought to sort the grass out.
Perhaps a little more optimistic is the fact I want a rather large oblong table, to seat about 6-8 people, down the middle of the garden. I'm hoping my father-in-law will be able to help us make one too so it doesn't cost money we don't have - but what materials would be best? I've read of a lady who used floorboards, I might look into that.
I'm aware that I need to be careful not to go waaaaaaaay overboard and need to keep costs as low as possible. My husband will think I'm going overboard regardless I expect but I'm a little sick of looking at a shabby garden. (And a shabby kitchen and bathroom but I guess that's another post entirely).
There will almost certainly be raised vegetable beds along the left side the garden, I'm hoping to dig them up in the next month or so, and I intend 'edge' them with the stack of old roof tiles that were kindly left at the bottom of the garden by the previous owners. Of course I intend to paint them a lovely complimentary colour first. White probably as we have lots of white paint hanging around.
I'm looking forward to having a pretty garden to be proud of, instead of one that can only be used by the dog. She seriously rules that garden, I can no longer hang any washing out as she simply pulls it off and plays with it. So we've (of course I mean I've) decided that she needs a space in the garden that's just for her, I've proposed the bottom of that garden where there is already a fence up.
Talking of this fence... I wonder if it could be halved, to perhaps just above waist height? It would really open up the garden, behind that fence there is approximately another 10ft of space. Currently used as a hidey place for everything the previous owners left that I'm hoping can be used somehow, finally found a use for the otherwise useless roof tiles. I reckon there's probably about 40 of them, so hopefully there'll be enough to edge my flower/veg beds.
So in short, I'm hoping to create a colourful garden that gives me nice things to eat and cook with.
That's the plan anyway.
We'll see.
Thank you so much for reading.
