Christmas is my favourite time of year, I'm hoping, again, for a white Christmas - not looking likely considering how warm it is lately! It is apparently 14 degrees Celsius today (24th Nov '11). Did you know that this time last year schools were closing, roads were treacherous and it was utterly beautiful and white everywhere? Today we have a blue sky with just a few cotton wool clouds. You could take a photograph and tell people it's July and they wouldn't know.
What's your favourite thing about the festive season? I like the smells. Cinnamon, chocolate, gingerbread... I have a recipe that I've been wanting to try for months but it's a Christmas one so I've been saving it and saving it. I went to bake them this morning and I don't have the correct amount of ingredients - oh I hate it when that happens. Will get myself to the shop to get the more ingredients as soon as I can and you just know the recipe will be on here soon after.
Christmas tree will soon be going up. Really excited for this as this year we're hoping to have a real tree. As lovely as our artificial one is I have never had a real tree before - I've heard they smell like Santa! I'm beyond excited. We have paper chains and paper snowflakes to decorate the living room. I still need to drag The Husband to town to purchase new decorations. This is all so exciting!!
